Here goes – part two of my Turkish delights! And beaches aren’t the only thing you can enjoy… their night markets are phenomenal, and an absolute dream for those who, if like me, enjoy collecting bundles of nick knacks and souvenirs. We found ourselves wondering through the stalls, mesmerised by all the ‘tat’ you can buy – more than once I might add.
We all left very happy cats with bangles up to our elbows and remnants of traditional Turkish pancakes (Nutella of course) from ear to ear.
The next exciting part of our adventure was a boat trip! Not one of those boats where you’re sardined in, and unwillingly forced to rave to Dizee Rascal – not that I have anything against him, in fact I think he’s great – just not with a sore cocktail head. However, it turned out to be a tad more civil than that and Jack Johnson happened to be the musical choice to set off to.
We even had a boat guest in pink shorts for the day!
Among our pretty boat trips and beach visits we managed a few sundowners, fish bowls and copious amounts of cocktails on the beach front, and ended up spending most nights in the same ‘Swan Bar’ – it was great fun, the music we recognised (always a good start) and we met plenty of locals who always make the experience memorable.
Diva moments are imperative when
sipping drinking cocktails!
Kathy and Ian, J’s parents, even threw a glitteringly good Hawaiian themed party for all their friends! Games were played, drinks flowed by the gallon, and the entire evening was generally sponsored by a whole load of silliness and turned out to be an absolute hoot!
That’s the end of part two folks, but rest assured I’ll have part three up and running pretty soon! I’ve saved the best until last!
