It’s girl heaven! And that is all I have to say on the matter. Other than the following of course…
Yesterday was mine and my lovely friend Amelia’s (you may remember her from my weekend in Madrid) first trip to Victoria’s Secret’s wondrous flagship store in London’s glamorous Bond Street, and from the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were dazzled by the stunning emporium of lingerie. For those with a fear of pink, sparkles, and mirrors – lots of mirrors, stop here, but for those who secretly can’t get enough of the sugary hues it’ll be worth your while to carry on reading.
You wonder how JUST lingerie can occupying a staggering four floors… and most probably only VS could manage it. Boasting opulent decor, boudoir style dressing rooms, a wall of 15 fragrances including a limited edition scent ‘London’, which was created in honour of the store. There’s even an entire floor dedicated to the super rich and famous who wish to shop in peace, along with a floor which plays host to the brands diffusion line ‘PINK’ for the younger VS fans out there. We were left surprised they don’t have a michelin star restaurant and spa just put the cherry on top of the icing.
The space showcases row upon row of lace, neon shades, perfect pastels, sequin embellishments, super padding (which has the be the ‘Secret’ behind the brand), all in the form of the most dreamy two-piece sets. Not to mention the pretty pj’s and lounge wear, which just buying for yourself (I mean if there isn’t another half in your life) will leave you feeling beautifully feminine and quite frankly irresistible! Trust me you don’t have to look like a VS model to feel and look good in their neligee’s.
And now onto the creme de la creme of the store or the pièce de résistance if you like – the one off creations made for that fashion show we all brace ourselves for on a yearly basis. The one where the likes of Rihanna and Bruno Mars perform live, while the world’s fash pack gather in New York to marvel the beautiful etheral collection, there’s even a chance you may even see an ‘Angel’ or two as well! Displayed beautifully in prominent places throughout the store and lining the windows, the costumes offer shoppers the chance to be a part of the exciting VS venture.
More than just a bit of retail therapy, the store is an experience, one which I recommend you allow a minimum of two hours for if you are planning on splashing the cash. I didn’t exactly splash but I definitely spent, as I couldn’t very well leave without my own little slice of the Victoria’s Secrets world. I departed the shop with not only a huge smile on my face but a gorgeous two piece shorts and cami set in blush pink with cream lace trimming, all set for summer nights!
Next time you’re on Bond street this is the place to be…
